ZigBee is a wireless protocol used in telemetry and control.
ZigBee standard was drafted in 2004 and it has about 150 companies working on this standard worldwide. The target was to develop the specifications for a wireless mesh network, with very low power requirements and with support from a couple of nodes to thousands of nodes.
